Hi, I’m Elly and I’m an artist. I wish I could say more, but for the last 5 years I’ve made art my entire life, to the exclusion of all else. I spend approximately 100% of my time working on my art; it invades every aspect of my life. I spent the first three years of my four year Drawing and Painting BFA trying to create contemporary art replete with existential theories and abstract musings. Unfortunately they turned out to be pieces of crap for the most part. After three years I finally gave up on creating perfectly contemporary art and gave in to my one true love: the body. I love bodies, I love their malformations, their deformities, the muscles and blood barely contained by their skin. Now I use oil and acrylics to explore them on large-scale canvases.
