Sonia Gemmiti is a Toronto based freelance designer, and curator of the weld art collective.
A graduate of the Interior Design program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, she has since worked for such design firms as Shikatani Lacroix Brandesign, Dialog/Gustavson Wylie Architects, and Johnson Chou.
Sonia’s love of art direction lead her to pursue a career in the film and television industry. Her career began as an Art Department Assistant on such films as The A-Team and The Big Year. She has subsequently worked as a Set Designer on Diary of Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, Old Stock, and the NBC series Covert Affairs. She most recently worked as part of the art department for MGM’s upcoming feature film remake RoboCop (2014).
It should also be noted Sonia likes breakfast for dinner, collecting pop-up books, and thinks the greatest piece of production design porn is Fritz Lang’s, Metropolis.
